How long doesit take toflick a switch?

11 April 2016, 09:27  - Joyce.Jagaroo

SANCTUARY Road, Connor Road and Cascades Crescent have been in darkness for several weeks now.

The street lights at Sanctuary and Connor roads were reported on February 27, and Cascades Crescent on December 17 last year.

Several e-mails and telephonic inquiries were communicated, but the only response one receives is: “Like I have said before, I have a long list of street-light problems and Connor Road is one of them.”

This kind of response is not acceptable.

Ratepayers in this area pay good money and expect a decent basic service, which we are entitled to.

All that is required is the flick of a switch at the sub-station to restore the service. The question is how long does that take?

Furthermore, one just needs to drive around our City of Choice and observe the number of streets that are in darkness.

The area of Masukwana Street from Hoosen Haffejee Street to Burger Street is out.

Echo Road is out.

Ohrtmann Road from Echo Road to Royston Road, thereafter from Tors Lane to New Greytown Road, are out.

Old Greytown Road is out from Failsworth Road to the off-ramp to the Liberty Midlands Mall/N3/Harrismith. Also from the off-ramp until Brookside.

I urge authorities to allocate a technician to attend to same as a matter of urgency.
