not justa mistake

11 April 2016, 09:28  - Joyce.Jagaroo

I CRINGE when I hear some of the excuses made by the ANC whenever members have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe stated: “We are all human and also make mistakes”, but taking taxpayers’ hard-earned money to build a palatial residence for the president is not a mistake; it is outright theft. And why has it taken so long for Jacob Zuma to make a public apology and humble himself to the nation? He knows that the Constitution is the anchor of the nation and he has deliberately violated the Constitution.

R246 million for an upgrade is a lot of money to spend and then say that he never knew what was taking place.

Should our president decide to pay back the money, it would make Parliament a quieter meeting place for all the opposition members to do what they are paid to do, provided that a certain Indian family doesn’t pay back the money for him.
