Essentials of Love present a diagnosis of human problems as the society of Love Struggle. In the book I acknowledge that human history is a history of struggles, and we can see that
Socialist perceive it as class struggle,
Feminists perceive it as sex and gender struggle,
Black liberation movements perceive it as racial struggle,
Nationalist perceive it as xenophobic and imperial struggle,
Ecologist perceive it as environmental struggle,
Fascists perceive it as state and authoritative struggle
Conservatives perceive it as a struggle to maintain tradition and conventionality,
Religious fundamentalist perceive it as struggle of sin through secular humanism,
Liberals perceive it as struggle of individual oppression,
Unificationists perceive it as a struggle between good and evil.
Post Modernist perceive it as a struggle to be loose from boundaries
I state my fundamental perspective that the cause of human struggle is neither spiritual alienation, nor economical alienation, but the lack of manifesting the desire and willingness to virtuously serving, attending and cooperating with others selflessly, for the benefit of greater good. It is clear to me that spiritual, and economical alienations come as the result of unfairness, abuse, and corruption, initially manifested and reinforced as the result of the Immature Love or lack of Love.
This argument presents a new mindset that the core struggle in our human society is not necessary the:
Individualisation struggle (i.e. individual/s vs. group/s)
Sex or gender struggle (i.e. man vs. women)
Generational struggle (i.e. elder vs. younger)
Tribal struggle (i.e. blood vs. language)
Racial struggle (i.e. white race vs. black race)
Class struggle (i.e. the haves vs. the have not’s)
Ethnical struggle (i.e. main culture vs. diverse culture)
National struggle (i.e. government vs citizens)
Global struggle (i.e. nationalism vs internationalism)
Rather the core human struggle is a Love Struggle. The above-mentioned struggles are manifested forms of love struggle.
In other words, all forms of human struggles are channelled love struggles based on levels of expressing human problems. These struggles are not primary in nature or order but secondary. Therefore, I strongly ague that individualism, ageism, sexism, tribalism, classism, ethnicitism, nationalism and globalism are love struggles.
Furthermore, Power Struggle which is the struggle about structures and relations of authority (i.e. status, decisions, implementation, governance, and principles) to coordinate sociopolitical, socioeconomic, and sociocultural activities, is in itself a love struggle. The point is, it is not much about who has power, but how are they using that power.
The struggle here is between those who acquire, and use power destructively, selfishly, and falsely, against those who are constructive, selfless, and truthful. Therefore, the struggle within and between all power structures, and relations(e.g political power, legal power, economic power, academic power, media power, religious power etc) are formally and informally, characterization and manifestation of love struggle.
Love Struggle is the struggle to love, which means when you struggle to have and "practicalize" the desire, and drive to serve, attend and cooperate with others in a free and principled manner without regard of their background (personality, sex, age, tribe, race, class, ethnicity, nationality) for their well-being, then you struggle to love, hence love struggle.
On one hand, to struggle to love means love confusion or contradiction. In this case people attempt to love, wants to love but they are struggling to love as result they become love confused, On the other hand, to struggle to love means lacking of love this is to detest. In this case people dislike at times abominates, not having affection, adoration or fondness to others or things.
Essentials of Love position, is: love struggle is the causal struggle, the seed of all human struggles. Selfishness, which is the initial human problem, is in fact the absence of love (revulsion). Why humans are unfair, corrupt and abusive, practicing actual human problems, is because of lacking love (odium). Why are we individualistic, sexists, racists, tribalistic, ethnocentric, nationalistic etc. is because of lack of love (disgust). Why people break families, commit crime, spread diseases, fight and impoverish others, embodying the divisive cultural problems is because of lacking love (hate). This is definitely Love Struggle.
