I dislike "MOM “drivers!
Now before you get me wrong there is a difference between a mom drivers and working mom drivers....I am referring to MOM drivers....you know the ones who probably only get up in the morning before 08:00 due the fact that they have to take their children to school because dad either has to leave early to avoid the traffic rush or it's part of their motherly duties.
If you are still unclear which ones I am referring to, here is a few ways on how to notice them:
She will be driving a big nice car or van
She will have a child (children) in the car with her (if there is a teenager in the car- it’s even trickier- will explain)
She will be wearing sunglasses (even if the sun isn't really up yet)
She will have uncombed hair- standing in all directions
She will be wearing a nightgown/robe or T-shirt
The reasons why I dislike MOM drivers is not for any of the above mentioned reasons but because they are usually the ones who are still half a sleep and for this reason does not drive well or pay attention to the road. They either drive like 20km/h and thus every freaking driver who can, push in seeing as the gap is so big (note I am stuck behind mom driver) or they slack down when approaching a GREEN traffic light.
They are also distracted by every person jogging or cycling past, turning their heads to see if it's someone they know, or by their children who is trying to talk to zombie mommy and she needs to takes her eyes of the road and look at the child when speaking because multi-tasking that time in the morning is way too complicated. The result, MOM is driving in 2 lanes at 20km/h and holding up everyone else.
I don't have an issue with getting your child to school as I do believe in education and all, but can you at least be half a wake when you do it. If you notice a MOM driver (as above mentioned) and she is driving decent, she probably has a teenager in the car, as the teenager has probably already pissed her off the morning before getting in the car & thus MOM is awake....however the downside to seeing a teenager with a MOM driver is that mom & teenager would speak (shout) before drop-off about any and all issues at hand- which ones again distracts mom from driving adequately.
I would just like to ask all MOM’s to please pay attention to the roads when driving and please take other people into consideration as we are not just getting up to drop off children and go back home. Maybe get up a bit earlier, have a cup of coffee or sort out your issues with your teenager at home instead of shouting & going off in your car.
Try not to be distracted by everything around you as this result in you driving all over the show and stopping for green traffic lights because you are not paying attention.
Sometimes we all need a bit of education.
