Make a splash when poachers are caught!

13 December 2011, 13:01

Another poacher arrested in the Kruger National Park, well done guys!! We appreciate that the anti-poaching teams are reluctant to give away information to us the public since this might give assistance to the poachers. We really do need to hear the great news when poachers ARE apprehended. It encourages us that we are having some impact and that our fund-raising and donations are making a difference.  What we now need is to ensure that the legal processing against these criminals are followed through and that they don't get away on a technical matter.

Lets support the Field Rangers to ensure that their cases are legally watertight and that they are allowed to do their work without fear of being legally compromised.  Technical / legal loopholes should be closed and the perpetrators brought to face the full force of our legal system. Perhaps the legal fraternity can make this one of their social upliftment projects and offer legal guidelines and follow up legal expertise to our warriors out there in the bush, who come face to face with AK47 toting poachers.

This way, for each poacher who is apprehended we can be confident will be successfully prosecuted and hopefully serve as a deterrent to potential poachers.

We need to make sure each success story gets maximum publicity particularly in the local community, where potential poachers are sourced.

Spread the good news! Lets use whatever we can to beat the poachers
