Again today I saw an article about the cops having to pay damages for torture, wrongful arrests etc.
These articles appear alongside stories about patients claiming millions in malpractice cases.
My first reaction is, serves the bastards right, make them pay for their sloppy work. Then I realized that the money they use to pay with is actually my money. I’m working my backside off, paying high taxes so that these idiots can pay out millions? That can’t be right.
Now, I do realize that making individuals liable wouldn't be a practical solution either. So here is my suggestion.
Make every cop, nurse, doctor or similar position jointly liable for damages paid out. Maybe, when having to pay out they would get their act together.
I am well aware that there are professional, caring individuals in these groups. Hopefully they will start making certain that their colleagues set their standards somewhat higher than what they are today.
