MATCH-FIXING SCANDAL
The SAFA match-fixing scandal is a disgrace to the soccer loving people of this country. I really don’t have fitting words to describe how irritating and humiliating it is, as a South African, to be associated with such. How can we as a country stoop so low? Where have the values gone to in the so called leaders? What happened to integrity and self-respect? Everything has been reduced to wealth accumulation, at the expense of key values and principles which shape and make the society which we live it.
This is definitely going to put into question even those matches Bafana Bafana have genuinely won. It will also make us suspicious of all other matches, even the PSL games. This will definitely taint the credibility of football in this country. It is really frustrating and an insult to the nation. The fact that SAFA (whoever that is) has instituted its own internal investigation does not ease things at all. In fact, it is insulting our intelligence.
The perpetrators of all this is SAFA, and how can then SAFA investigate SAFA? This is ludicrous. Though it will be painful for this country, FIFA should sanction SAFA until all this is concluded. South Africa should not be allowed to participate in any football activities!
Money-mongers are destroying this country by all means and in all spheres of governance. It is not funny anymore. This country is going down the drain, fast! Truly, “the love of money is the root of all evil.”
