What does Mcdonald’s have to do with internet marketing and the way people use the internet?
The answer in short: Giving people what they want, fast.
Just about every country has a Mcdonald’s chain and in all of them you can expect to see the same products delivered quickly. There is a lot to learn here for business owners with websites and without. Consumers want to see what you have to offer quickly, without having to click here and click there and if they find what they are looking for, they want to buy it now. They do not want to visit some distributor or branch or call a call centre to place an order, if that is what they wanted that is exactly what they would have done in the first place.
If you don’t have a website, get one fast, the internet bus is not waiting for anyone and getting a ticket is not a task that is getting easier.
If you do have a website, think about the user experience when they access your site.
* Does your site load quickly?
* Is it easy to navigate?
* Can potential customers easily ask you questions?
* Can potential customers order/purchase products/services directly of your site?
* Is the buying process easy and uncomplicated?
* Can they share your information with their friends easily?
If you are not sure about any of these points, ask colleagues or friends to visit your site and give you feedback about their experience on your site, or contact us to have a look by clicking here.
If you are happy with the usability of your site, good job, now it’s time to consider how easy it is to find your site in the first place, and this is where your internet marketing, social marketing and SEO efforts come into play.
I will be writing articles on all the available internet marketing options to website and business owners over the coming weeks with specific focus on the importance and implementation of these options. Till next time, always keep the Mcdonald’s epidemic in mind when it comes to your website, and ask yourself: Will I buy from my website ?
