In this country, it seems mediocrity is tolerated.
In this country it seems that being average is being tolerated.
In this country, it seems that just making it is enough.
Given the recent and past controversies of this country evidence seems to explicitly suggest that in this country, doing just good enough, is enough.
Bafana Bafana are mediocre in terms of performance. I ask myself why in this country, must we win based on technicality? Why in this country, must we qualify because we are the host? Why in this country, must we be disqualified and humiliated on our own soil?
Why in this country, are we so paradoxical? We spend billions on education only to be ranked close to poorest if not poorest in terms of quality. Is that not a paradox, better yet, is that not mediocrity? What is happening to our beloved country that the majority of essential aspects of the state are mediocre? We have the SAPS which is in shambles. We have the NPA which is in shambles. We have an education system which is in shambles. And fatally, we have a health system which is in shambles.
My plea to this country is simple, get your act together Azania because your children are suffering. Your young children are unemployed. Your citizens cannot afford the ever increasing standard of living. All of your children are becoming impatient and agitated about your complacency and mediocrity, Mzansi. We as your children love you very much hence the displays of patriotism when hosting the rugby and soccer World Cups on the belly of your soil mother of Africa. Let us unite and make the Republic of South Africa a country with a reputation that it so dearly deserves having been through what it has been through. Let us make mediocrity and complacency in all of our domestic aspects a thing of the past.
Son of the soil
