I am absolutely appauled... not many would agree with my opinion but i have decided to voice it to anyone that is willing to read it.
All i am reading in the newspaper or hearing on the radio is that the mine strikers are aggressive and they are the ones that shot first. Um, why are they striking?? The media is more interested in the fact that "whoah" the police and the stikers really got into it and + - 44 people were killed including a police officer. What i want to know is why are they striking? Perhaps the government is hearing what they are asking for but NOT listening. No one in the government is prepared to live the way the miners do. It doesnt affect their eggs benedict and orange juice in the morning!
So emotions ran high and the strikers decided that they need to be heard for a change. Can i also just state that the MEDIA could also explain things a bit better. sensation, sentation, sensation! Ratings and comments! Thats what it is. Well that what it feels like.
I have nothing against the SAPS. I would have probably done the same thing. If someone was coming to attack me i wouldn't stand still and allow it. My worry is that there must have been a reason and as part of the public i have not found that reason yet through the course of my everyday. People can judge and say "oh we cant believe that the miners killed a police officer"! The police officers killed 44 people...... give or take!!!
No one is right. Tensions run high.
I would love to see the people in government doing what the police have to do. They have no idea what danger is upon our police officers and the danger is probably due to the fact that our SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT does not listen to the people!
My gosh and they took MUTI... this is not Asterix and Obelix! Get over yourselves!!!
