Moon landing conspiracy

04 February 2013, 09:02

In 1978 a film done its rounds on the circuit and starred  OJ Simpson as a potential spaceman, who, with his fellow spacemen were going to make a hoax flight to Mars. This is an efficient method to indoctrinate people with the hoax that the moon landing was, in fact, a real hoax.

The post Vietnam and post Watergate era when American citizens were inclined to distrust official accounts.  The mass media tended to manipulate the half-truth into a twilight zone where people can make their guesses sound as truth.  The mass media has a massive impact on people who lack guidance.

A book published in 1994 by Andrew Chaikin mentions that at the time of Apollo 8 lunar missions in December 1968, similar conspiracy theories and ideas were ready in circulation.

PUBLIC  OPINION:  There is a cult worldwide which advocates the belief that the moon landings were faked.  By 1977 the Hare Krishna magazine, Back to the Godhead, called the landing a hoax.  Their reason:  the sun is 93,000,000, miles away and according to Hindu mythology the moon is 8,000,000 miles further than  that.  That makes the moon 94,000,000  miles away.  To travel that distance in 91 hours would require a speed of more than a million miles per hour:  an impossible feat even by scientists calculations.   A poll conducted by a United States agency during the 1970,s in several countries in Latin America,   Aisia and Africa found that most respondents were unaware of the moon landing.  Many others dismissed them of propaganda of science fiction. And many thought it was the Russians that landed on the moon.

Officials of Fox Television said the scepticism rose to about 20% after February 2001  of Fox network  TV  show:  Conspiracy theory:  Did we land on the moon?  Seen by about 15 million viewers.  This seems to be a case where the media did induce bias and prompted the hoax claims.  Another polls gives that 25%  of 18 – 25 years olds surveyd were unsure that the landings happened in 1997  princess Diana was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Paris.

Shortly after that incident and while the official investigation was under way the  conspiracy theories were born out of  a hysterical need to know and since the information was scarce it became easier to create  it

There were scores hitting the media every day and are just too much to tabulate

Driver was drunk,  Driver was under the influence of medication, Driver was driving recklessly,  Driver was ill (headache) Driver was harassed by the paparazzi.  The CIA  was involved, Driver was driving at a high speed

The evidence for the moon landing hoax or conspiracy is frail and has been proven as unreliable.

Flag in the lunar wind?  The flag was supported by steel bars yet remained crinkled,  Reflection on visor with no external camera:  Camera was strapped to spaceman’s chest.  No stars visible and this was due to too much light coming from the sun and would require a camera with a high speed exposure

The boot prints on the ground were too deep to remain that way.
