Dear Sibongile Mafu,
I am responding to your very interesting article on “White beggars can be choosers” linked here :
http://www.news24.com/Columnists/SibongileMafu/White-beggars-can-be-choosers-20130206.
I am assuming that this piece is supposed to be serious and not a comedy piece correct? I am sorry for asking but it just reads like something you will find on a blog that reports fake news stories where people are joking about serious events currently happening in the world or it reads like something you will find on a extremist blog where racists hang out to pat each other on the back.
I believed for a very long time that the reasons things haven’t progressed faster from 1994 to now was because of the massive task of educating people who were failed by the Apartheid government. However I am slowly realizing that that is a very small issue compared to something much larger. The larger element I am talking about is the hate filled parents that teach their children that all white people are bad and evil and that every single white person benefitted from Apartheid.
You are a perfect example of this and let me explain why:
You seem educated and from what I can see you are or have been to a University. Now usually a tertiary education will allow you to see the propaganda machine that the governing party of this country is. They get it right to treat people like dogs and steal people’s hard earned tax money through corruption yet they still get voted into power every election.
You have been educated enough to see this, however your family and friends have instilled this deep hatred towards white people and something their forefathers did. A perfect example of this when Julius Malema went to universities around South Africa and succeeded in getting thousands of students to sing “Kill the Boer” with him. Educated people don’t sing songs like this however educated people with a deep hatred inside them do. You are one of these people.
I am not going to dissect your racist article and post my response to every racist thing you have said because your article proves that you are a racist all on it’s own. I would like to “educate” you a bit however. Please realize that people like you are dying out in this country. You know, the ones that look at the world as black and white. Both white people and black people like you realize that they don’t have a future in this country and their final stand are to scream and shout and try and convince people that they are right and everyone else is wrong.
Take Malema as an example, it worked for him for a while and now he is nothing and has lost everything. The same applies here to you, your little insignificant blog will experience a spike in traffic and you will get a lot of “like-minded” racists, however once your controversial status fades and you can’t find a job because you are known as that racist blogger then they will disappear back into the darkness from which they came.
I apologize for not discussing beggars more in this article however I think any person with common sense knows that a beggar begs either because they are too lazy to find a job or because they really are helpless and can’t support themselves. There really is no need to bring color into this, as you do not know a single thing about ANY beggar, whether white, black, pink or orange.
I really hope people like you don’t get the platform to spread more of this ignorance and hatred towards other races. I do not understand how someone like you, who never experienced a day of oppression, have so much hate towards a race while people who actually suffered and spent years in jail who were wrongfully accused don’t show hatred at all but happiness and content that everyone is equal now.
I will never deny the fact that Apartheid was terrible, I will even agree that indirectly I benefitted, however please realize that your race isn’t the only race that has suffered in South Africa. Every single race can point to a certain time in history and show oppression of one by another.
Even you, Sibongile, have someone in your history that oppressed someone else in order to improve the life for his or her family and today you are benefiting from it, would you like me to throw that in your face even though you didn’t ask to be benefited?
What amazes me even more is how you are a columnist for News 24. I have applied to be a columnist on News 24 and never received a response to my email. I have an education, I have a good social following and have posted articles in the “my opinion” area that have received “editors choice” rewards and thousands of comments but now I know why I can’t be accepted. I am not racist enough or don’t write articles that cause a “stir”. It seems you have to be previously disadvantaged and have a lot of hatred inside you to be considered for this columnist title on News 24.
Let me end off by saying I pity you and I pity people who think like you. You think you are fighting this “struggle” but in fact that only thing you are doing is creating people who think like the people who "caused Apartheid" in the first place. You cause a never-ending cycle where your hatred towards another race will cause that race to hate your generation and so the cycle will continue. Will you ever break this cycle? Only time will tell.
