In response to the article that appeared on the E.C Herald Newspaper, on the 20th of April written by Wilma Jurgensen of Port Alfred, I feel obliged to bring forth some of the ideas that could ease the burden on our education system in this country, especially in the Eastern Cape.
Our South African culture is subtle and unique compared to other countries. It is therefore the reason that our policies in our Institutions should focus on establishing a System that is fundamental that could bring unify all educational systems to find a base where everyone could benefit without infringing on the person constitutional right.
My Documentary on Youtube.com is focused on utilising such Technological infrastructure as a tool to communicate on a broader scale through the aid of the Internet.
My initiative is to document African history that reflects on our indigenous culture and heritage, through storytelling and reenactment of the actual events. The success of our country lies on implementing Innovative and Strategic concepts, especially now that we possess the Digital Infrastructure.
The Information and Communication Telecommunication is the answer to our plight, where Learning Material could be accessible to everyone in Rural; Townships and Urban Communities. This could also ease the workload from teachers, where parents would be involved in the “education” of the his/her child.
A full Curriculum could be available where parents could work with children at home and interact in Real-time, a simulation of a real classroom, a virtual class.
My concept is to establish “one education system” where all the students in the country could have access and input to all the resources, irrespective of his/her social background and without inhibitions of distance and location.
