No acting with Oscar

14 February 2013, 15:00
I have just now learned of this latest tragedy in South Africa with our Olympic legend, Oscar Pistorius involved in a Valentine morning shooting.  Let us not judge!

This is the worst of any kind of Valentine disaster and it's unfair on the Oscar family to speculate about the events earlier today.
Remember that Oscar is our Blade Runner.  Our SA Olympic champion who embody everything that is great about our great country and what it means to be a disablement in society and what it also means to overcome your own weakness.

There have been some stupid commentary already today about this unfolding tragedy and I remind everyone to please consider the family that are affected and also to remember what Oscar has done for South Africa and our sport.

I don't believe for one second that there is sinister motives in this story and believe in Oscar and his truth with the police investigation.

We give sincere condolence to the young woman to is no longer with us and wish her family a speedy recovery as they deal with this traumatic events.

Let us hold our country high and try to be in good spirits on this Valentine Day and please let us not judge a man by the cover, but rather by the truth of the events that we are still to learn of.

Today South Africa mourn.
