" Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."- John 5:28,19. Two types of resurrections Christ brings to view, (1) The Resurrection to Life, and (2) The Resurrection to damnation, that is " being condemned to eternal punishment" which is eternal death. This is the word. No second chance doctrine at the resurrections, is either you will fall on the later or the former. God has and is giving us a time of probation to be hid in him that "when He is revealed, we shall see Him as He is"- 1 John 3:2
The previous article was about the Book of Life and the books that are records in heaven. And it is said of the Book of life; " He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."- Revelation 3:5. Note some detail which is very important: From the verse above, it gives the impression that at some point in the course of history there will be a time when there will be a "blotting out of names" of some people in the Book of life. Well, God said "unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."- Exodus 32:33. You see a time is coming for the close of probation, the time when mercy no longer lingers, thus the following words are presented: " He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."- Revelation 22:11. At that point in human history, he who will be lost will forever be lost, and he whose name shall remain in the book of life shall be forever saved. This will be the time, when probation would have closed, in which the words of God's prophet would be fulfilled; "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it."- Amos 8:11,12. What a terrible time for those who rejected or ignored the truth of God presented to them that they may repent while there was still time, they shall seek the truth of God but probation would have closed, for they shall not find it.
After probation has closed, can there still be time for a second chance? No! Not at all. For probation would have closed and we've read from Rev. 22:11 that " He that is unjust, let him be unjust still...and he that is holy, let him be holy still." It is a great mistake to think that Rev. 20:13-15 speak of a second chance to the lost after the resurrection of the wicked. The verses say about the wicked that "they were judged, each one according to his works." It is not because there is any second chance given to some at this point but that from their records they will be punished according to their works, meaning that people who shall suffer in the fire will not burn with the same length. The principle used in Deuteronomy 25:2 will be used at the punishing of the wicked.. Others will burn more than others till all become ashes, thus Malachi 4:1,3 will be fulfilled: "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch...And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts." And this are they whose names will not be found in the book of life.
It is true that God is love but let us not think that God will never punish those who have chosen the ways of death, for the "wages of sin are death (eternal death)."- Rom. 6.23 By thinking thus we deny the clear revealed word of God regarding the fate of rebellious children. God is Just and merciful. But in deed God gives us opportunities to know that which is truth and to do that which is right. It was never God's plan that man should end up in eternal death but that all should be saved in Jesus Christ, hell to come it was meant for Satan and his angels, see Matt. 25:41. God for sure respect our choices but surely he is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."- 2 Peter 3:9. No second chance at Christ second coming, no second chance after the thousand years of Rev. 20.
"For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye."- Ezekiel 18:32
