OUR BELOVED MADIBA – Nelson Mandela
Why does the entire world love Madiba? Because he reminded us that we have to manage our ability to serve and to forgive, even in times when we feel cheated, harmed and unfairly treated.
Madiba reminded us that when we forgive someone unconditionally, we channel the true healing power from God (a higher power) to that person and in return, we receive the rewards in the form of our own soul growth.
We have learned from Nelson Mandela that we will have peace only when we continually apply spiritual laws in our daily lives. Unforgiveness and selfishness in our hearts brings not only war and all the agony that goes with war, but also misery, chaos, confusion, disaster, poverty and repetition of our previous mistakes. When we as a Nation stop dwelling on the past we make it clear to the rest of the World that we are moving forward. We erase the emotional state that will cripple us and prevent us from moving forward. We will have peace only when we trust and believe that moving forward is for our highest good. We have to keep Nelson Mandela’s legacy alive therefore we have to learn to submit service for selfishness no matter what our race, title or status.
Nelson Mandela taught us that it is easy to forgive and love those we love; there is no virtue and no saintliness in that. But to forgive and love those you do not love, that is the attribute of a truly evolved soul. To be able to go to those who hate you and to forgive and serve those whom you are not attracted to, that is a challenge. It is difficult, but the ideal of the difficulty must always be in front of you, to strive to achieve that which is the hardest because that is the true means of service.
South African’s have learned from Madiba that: To be charitable to those who win your sympathy is not a true challenge and it is not hard to do. It is also not difficult to be compassionate to those to whom you are attracted; but to serve your enemies is the hardest task to accomplish.
The highest and purest love in its most altruistic form is when you forgive someone unconditionally and in return give unselfish love because you know you must. When you give unselfish love you fulfill the divine law.
You only punish yourself when you are unforgiving. You may be justified in feeling angry, but be aware that you pay a high price when you are consumed with resentment, evil thoughts and revenge. When someone has hurt you, you do not need to forget the action, but you have to forgive the person. When you carry and collect resentment and bitterness in your heart you cannot grow your soul because you leave no space for receiving healing love. You will keep on feeling lost.
Whenever you want to improve anything in your life, there's only one place to look and that is inside you. When you look inside, do it with love and the rest will be easy. You will radiate an aura that the whole world will respect, see and feel. You truly will be a reflection of your Creator – we salute you Nelson Mandela – the world salutes you Madiba – Rest in peace – All our love, Belinda, Danie, Lizél, Charl, Daniëlle and Serena Elizabeth Joubert – Western Cape, South Africa – 11 December 2013
