Oh just give it a rest!

30 August 2013, 12:03

Everybody has the right to express their opinion, I know, freedom of speech bla bla...  MyNews24 is a public page, and it’s not mandatory to read the articles, I know, but things are getting ridiculous!

Do you as a theist/atheist really believe that you can convince a person believing/not believing to change their mind, based on your insulting or well researched article?  It seems there is this desperate need to express how stupid Christians are and how evil atheists are.

It’s the same old story every single time.  An atheist or theist posts his/her article online, passionately defending his/her beliefs.  It’s Bible this, and peer reviewed that and follow links here and read about this there.  Prove this, and answer that.  Then the insults start.  You’re absolutely mentally challenged if you don’t believe in evolution or the spawn of the devil if you don’t believe in God.   If you want to have an intellectual discussion or if you enjoy debating the deeper issues of life, that’s great.  The only thing is it turns into a mudslinging contest.  At some stage all logic flies out the window and it becomes a playground spitting contest (I myself have been guilty of snorting back and then spitting some snot).

If you posted 1 article, expressing your views, why the barrage of follow-up articles?  If you want to provide people with information and knowledge, why indulge the “trolls” and reply on their supposedly ignorant comments.

I now avoid the “faith/belief/atheism” articles, and stick to the articles that are worth reading.
