Online predators!

22 July 2013, 14:27

I am writing this story to warn male and female users to think twice about online dating!  Yes, I have been warned, but decided to follow my heart... wrong road!

Your situation may be different from mine, but millions of people fall prey to sweet words and promises of a better life. Unless you KNOW the person on the other side of that screen, be careful!

I was on Facebook when I got a message:  "you are beautiful", "you have gorgeous eyes".... wow instant hit!

I ignored it, but it stayed in the back of my mind. Next day got another message "Have a wonderful day Princes!"  I replied with a sweet and short "Thank you". What started with idle chit-chat for a few days, became something a bit more serious... He was so sweet and funny and from his photo's he posted, very handsome!

Two months went by, chatting away, he asked for my number. He wanted to send me a song. How romantic! How dumb!  This guy was every girl's dream and even more! He's an entertainer, single dad, loves to cook, plays piano, rich and good looking... all that in one guy. Couldn't believe my luck.

Now, we have never spoken over the phone, never met, but the way he made me feel... I was busy falling for this complete stranger! Stupid, I know!

Plan was to have our first face-to-face meeting in a few days. He invited me over for dinner and to meet his daughter! I was super excited! I met the man of my dreams online and know I am going to meet him in person!

Then everything collapsed!

I started getting threatening messages on my phone, people posting comments on my Facebook wall... horrible stuff! Long story short, a friend of mine is a private investigator. He tracked down the person who sent me the messages... It was my Dream Man's wife! Turns out, Mr. Right has been married for 8 years, has 4 kids and works on cars in his back yard. He is not 37, he is 46.

Another piece of information he forgot to mention, he is a sex offender! Got out of jail 8 months ago, back with his wife.

How could I have been so stupid! I honestly felt something for this guy! You hear about all these stories and still think it won't happen to you.... Don't be so sure! I also thought that!

Please make sure, before you meet your online Love, he is Actualy who he says he is! Had I met him in person, I might not have been here to write this letter!
