Ons Gaan Nou Braai

12 May 2014, 15:02
"Ons Gaan Nou Braai....." - Barry Hilton

There is no level of comprehension in the world that can bring me to understand this utterly mesmerising phenomenon that occurs here in our wonderful country. To get an idea of what I mean, just have a look at the article here: , here , here, to name a few,  which gives an indication of the quality of logic that resides within our borders.

It seems that it's in South African blood that when something isn't going according to plan, the only way to get something to work is to burn it...!

This phenomenon isn't new either. I remember a couple of years ago when trains were burnt to the ground because they weren't on time? Oh wait! I forgot - that makes them go much faster...kind of like the drag racers painted with flames on the side...only we don't use paint - WE USE THE REAL STUFF!

"We want more schools!" - Lets have a braai
"Our trains are too slow!" - Lets have a braai
"We don't like the treatment we're getting at the local clinic!" - Let's have a braai

I wouldn't be so concerned about this morbid situation were it not for the fact that the funds that will ultimately be used to replace these PUBLIC works (paid by Taxpayers) could have benefitted those who have less than the rest of us, by building homes, hospitals, schools, etc)
