Open letter to General Riah Phiyega

17 January 2014, 08:44

The body of a 5-year-old boy whose mother and her boyfriend are accused of killing him was covered in purple bruises and had burn marks on his back and genitals.

Broken ribs, a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, a punctured pancreas and kidney, severe bruising all over her body and suspected brain damage – these are injuries allegedly inflicted on a two-year-old girl by her mother’s boyfriend.

Another girl was raped and murdered by her uncle and the list goes on and on, yet instead than doing your job you hijacked a funeral of one of such children for cheap publicity General?

Your JOB is not to arrange memorial services but to fight crime and protect such children and while you said that “It is through her silence that many other children will find salvation, safety and security” then I have the following question for you.

WHY are the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in such shambles?

I went to Roodepoort FCS yesterday to prevent a potential case like above but except for typists there is nobody else there and the captain those cell number I got ignored several messages up to now.

When I came back to Pretoria there was yet another case on my “Giftige Verhoudings” Facebook page where the mother don’t know where she can get help and despite your “many other children will find salvation, safety and security” the SAPS seems to be more concerned about funerals than in helping those in need.

Every good person in this country would want to help and support the SAPS and in fact do that with our taxes but we cannot do that if our tax money is wasted on court cases and other things and instead than serve and protect, the police ignore and kill.

There are a lot of GOOD cops out there General but the SAPS appoint criminals and promote idiots from constable to “Colonel” overnight so it’s clear as daylight that Police Management is out of control and its mind unless its planned chaos, designed to turn this country into a dictatorship.

Race issue my ass. It have very little to do with race and I know a few black police officers at the Secretariat of Police and several other sections that would be able to turn the SAPS around within months if they was in your shoes and have the political backing, which SHOULD be unnecessary “General”.
