It’s really a sad time in the 21st century; when we still cannot form unity. I; firstly a woman; secondly an African born in South African have the right to speak out against any form of disrespect in society as an individual; this is my freedom. I can only unite my words; words that have been kept inside my mind and heart for so long.
I find the more I spend my time on analysing life; events and humanity; the more I have that red alert in the back of my mind and deep frustration with ‘’us’’. We are part of the humanity of this world; yet I find that we are not conscious of what is happening around us every day. I am talking the consciousness of our country heading towards an abyss – I am asking myself; what kind of a country will we be leaving behind for generations to come and how will they reflect on us?
Will they admire us as the generation who still had the chance to stop the wars among our people? Or maybe that we failed to act? Selfishness and greed for money; power prevail in our century as never before. Our people are intoxicated by government; media and leaders who chose themselves above ‘’by the people’’. These leaders are not ‘’alive’’ nor are they conscious.
Yes I said it; our leaders are driven by lowly consciousness. So much political energy has been lost due to interplay of attractiveness and power. Does our government really address the issues that need attention; poverty; crime; racism which they nowadays sow themselves? Most do not care. They are not ready to undertake these wars; despite rising anger among South Africans. They better watch out; I warn them out of knowledge and great analyses; the war is increasing towards a point of no return.
What you sow; you shall reap; even if it will come generations later. Our country is moving towards more damage; that will be beyond repair. Will the next generation be able to comprehend the failure of politicians and leaders of our time? Leaders who failed to address and to terminate the greed among fellow leaders. May God have mercy on them; because I don’t even wish for my worst enemy to go through the gates of hell.
What could be done with the billions spent on unnecessary events; projects etc.? Alleviating poverty and hunger would make this country hopeful for many other changes. By eliminating poverty and injustice our country becomes a safe-haven for all. Whereas as now in our country it has become a place less and less secure.
But politicians do not act. They seem unable to change their patterns of behaviour. They cannot stop the greed of business and the business of greed. We fail to challenge the real decision-makers in a country governed by low consciousness and selfishness. This pressure must come from outside; from the people in South Africa.
Many of those amongst you who will come to read this message will be of raised consciousness – and frustrated that the countries order do not ever seem to change. But indeed; have good faith; we must change that which seems unchangeable. It is important; not just for you and me; but for our fellow brothers and sisters as well.
We must awaken humanity, and in so doing never use violence in order to achieve the objective. The only way to change this country for the better is by lifting up the consciousness of all people. When critical mass is achieved the politician will have to follow and the businessman will then follow. That is when real change begins.
'Consciousness' is the key word and the only one that really matters. Let us become conscious of our responsibility toward the future of South Africa. Let us indeed save the future of South Africa; of ourselves. In this we may prove worthy of being human. If we fail; we prove little more than that we did not deserve to survive neither did we deserve to live.
That we wasted our lives for short-term pleasures, profits and illusions. We will be judged in the eternity of this universe where there will be no advocate to defend us… and where we will remain accused of the genocide. We must act.
Let us write about this and talk about this. Let us awaken each other. Let us come together whenever and wherever we can to raise our voices in unison. More and more people will surely follow. WE must now speak. We must not be intimidated nor must it be bribed for continued silence. After all there is a voice in our midst which speaks clearly and speaks loudly; AGAIN CONSCIOUSNESS.
In the end consciousness will prevail. Our country will be saved. WE will not be the people who brought about the destruction of South Africa.
