Opinions and perceptions

23 January 2014, 14:09

THE LIST INCLUDED, GIVES AN INDICATION AS TO HOW I SPENT MUCH OF MY WORKING LIFE ON THE MINES. THE ONLY NON-MINING OCCUPATION WOULD BE THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AFFAIRS LOCATED IN WINDHOEK.  My job was a senior electrical design technician. While being through the mining and private sector it was found to be of interest just to examine different perceptions, insights and opinions of different persons with different occupations. And how the different perceptions differ from each other and the inherent perceptions thereof. In fact about 95% of opinions and perceptions are, by their nature different and no argument will change or conclude them because there are just as much views as persons generating and believing in those views or they would not exist. The chances of any two or three opinions, co-in- siding exactly is highly unlikely to happen.  Interestingly enough this statement corresponds to the spectators of a rugby test match.  Have we not seen it every time a test is played.

The referee can only see the game from his particular reference and then react to what he has seen or suspect what he has seen. While while the spectators and linesmen see theirs as opposed to the TMO.  The world has its own built in video machine and what it produces swill depend on where the camera was located. Some months ago I submitted several articles related to the mining industry and mines in general.  Some were depicted as I would perceive them and as such formed an opinion; entirely my own, from

Some quarters the reaction to my opinions were rather negative and I was blamed for dragging the industry through the mud. My opinion accrued from 36 years in the industry and association with that industry and it would be rather naïve to go that route.

LIST:  railways, asbestos mine koegas, copper mine. Copper ton, Department of water affairs, Namibia, Department water affairs (operations.) (Uranium mine Namibia), Gold mines OFS, Diamond mine NC

Why I love Cambodia’s capital

There are so many reasons to hate Cambodia’s bite sized capital of Phnom Penh. Open sewers, naked children, piles of burning garbage on every street. Its a dirty, smelly, noisy amalgam. But Phnom Penh grows on you and by the time you leave it will occupy a special place in your heart. Read more...
