Our beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field

27 February 2014, 11:08

A Facebook friend of mine is connected to all the top ANC guys it seems, if memory serves me well she once said her mom is a Parliamentarian – anyway I was looking at her pics taken at Madiba’s funeral and I was shocked by what I saw; those guys didn’t seem like arseholes at all, in fact they appeared to be normal people much like you and I.

There was Gwede looking casual and relaxed, here was that Communist of note Jeremy Cronin smiling broadly, his arms wrapped around everyone, you would have never guessed that these were the self same people who were responsible for many a disgrace, E-tolls, Nkandla, the list is endless – they did not realize that when we won our freedom, it was the start of a long, hard battle, the start of a lot of hard work, not the end of it.

They believed that the vote in their favour meant South Africans had given them the country to do as they wished, when they wished with arrogance, impunity and total disregard of the poor who lay sprawled under street signs waiting for a decent share of our country’s wealth - Oh no! The current ANC leaders just sweep by, sirens blaring in police escorts using up half our traffic policing resources, not a single damn care in the world.

Only one conclusion can be drawn from this, they were highly unprepared to lead a government, even now, when problems arise, they become overly defensive, they deny and avoid any accountability instead of seeking first the best solution and acting swiftly - when there’s corruption uncovered, they don’t even try to recover the money lest those whom they recover from turn the tables on them and expose their own shortcomings. In short, a right royal mess.

To think that this has been going on for 20 years, we have an opposition of fools and clowns, tripping all over themselves and a DA with their record high of 16% in the past elections being treated as a massive inroad into our political arena – a DA that is hell bent on further enriching the rich while we look on helplessly.

Take a page out of apartheid beneficiaries’ handbook I say, those guys have mastered the art keeping inequality alive, they are smooth in their deception but not too smooth as not to make obvious that only the jobs they hate are passed to people of colour complete with a ribbon wrapped around them called “opportunity”. ‘Oh that’s such a racist thing to say” I can hear them now, “We stand for Equality and all that I assure you Peter” is their retort, very well then, so why are you paying yourselves crazy amounts more in salary and perks than people of colour in the same positions?

As someone once said, we need to move onto another level now…‘Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there’….
