Placing Freedom | A Motivational Piece.

Placing Freedom | A Motivational Piece

Having strapped my cranium between two little white wires, spitting spectrums of thoughts and rampaging beats, I believe so much is possible, and oh how easy it is to obtain my dreams (for those still confused, these are earphones).

I find it remarkable how much music can do for ones spirit and motivation. If you really need to boost your self-esteem try this. Write down the positive things about yourself on one side, and the horrible things on the other side… well, go on… do it.

You will find, or should have found, that confronting the negative aspects of your life bring about these atrocious, unwanted feelings. Simply stated, your mind prefers processing positive ideals and thoughts that you have or believe in.

Many of us dream, oh yes. That fantastic materialistic ideal, swooping materials gliding off your skin, smiles radiating as to place silhouettes on brilliant faces, and who can forget, that ability to do and go as you please.

It’s a magnificent escape; after all, reality can simply be a bit of a depressant, especially if you did not get what you wanted for Christmas. I am not going to sell you a dream, instead, I am going to tell you how easy a dream is to achieve if you really want it. Just remember, as the Chinese proverb, or any good doctor for that matter, will tell you, “good medicine always tastes bitter”.

How is this easy?

Many of us have read the same nonsense over and over again, “young entrepreneur changes the world”, “musician cannot make music, but still makes millions”, and even the odd “homeless woman makes her first million”. Do you want to know what the truth us, this is not nonsense.

If you have dreams, stop “just” having them and start making them a reality. Let’s be honest. Can you be honest?

If you have failed, good. If you have failed again, even better. This means you have tried and tried over and over again to do something for the better. You have gone beyond the norm (no one likes being labelled average anyway) and have challenged convention. I urge you to challenge yourself mentally, emotionally and physically.

Write down what you want to achieve, the positive aspects about yourself, the good things people have said about you, and your strengths. Forget about what you cannot do, how life could be better, or why no one likes you. Music videos will not make you popular, labelled clothing wont either, and forget that there is a secret cult organising to make you fail.

You are the most incredible piece of technology to have embraced the Earth. You have the ability to adapt, change, learn and challenge ideas. You are beautiful, and you are an impressive human. I bet you could teach anyone a thing or two about anything. That just it, YOU are amazing, so lets do this:

1.     1. Write down why you rock

2.     2. Scribble down ideas and try them out

3.     3. Think about why you are important.

4.   4. Know that you can be the change agent to change paradigms

5.    5. Believe in yourself

6.    6. I believe in you

Reread this all, over and over, put your favourite track on and off you go. Positive thoughts that are repeated submerge themselves into your subconscious. In this way if anyone brings you down, even if its yourself, there will be something lingering saying, “Hey! Hey! Hey! take a hike, we are making dreams happen here”.

If freedom is the ability to do as you wish (without breaking contextual morals), then why do you dream about them, surely it is better to place freedom in your own hands, and be free.
