Politicians in Zimbabwe not helping

07 August 2013, 07:31

By: Sivuyile S. Sesi

Zanu PF is not helping the people, with their rationale they don't intend to, point taken. Robert Mugabe is not fit to be a president of a country.

With more people turned away to vote, with all the tricks involved but Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) to a large extent fails to convince the people.

So as the elections are said to be unfair, with people restlessness, the uncomfortability of election period especially the voting day as I have observed and experienced as a voter and Independent Electoral Commission Official in 2009, at the township of Crossroads, here in South Africa, Zanu PF didn't win and MDC lose because of that. People need to believe in their party of choice beyond such. That is if they know the importance of an X on the ballot paper.

For MDC to claim that the election were fraudulent, their case is on stand your ground, as Zanu PF is known for abusing human rights and undermining democracy. Otherwise his voters are few or they don't have strong drive for their democratic political right. Each party and election commission is responsible for voters’ education.

It’s up to each party to keep its constituents or the voters and the people informed and ready for their party political undertakings. The elections were peaceful so if this was the opportunity they were looking for, they should have been positive, took the challenge and came out in numbers. They can't depend on opposing group to fool them not to stand in lines for their vote.

Zanu PF and MDC had equal punch at it, a large number of people voted and the stronger party at that condition won. The power of each individual in that one moment at a time is choice.

Both parties are not at best interest of the people of Zimbabwe. Better For Morgan Tsvangarai because for him to be a candidate for presidency make sense than the forever to serve Zanu PF choice old Mugabe. They changed their constitution in that still allow Mugabe to be a president candidate and we can't deny that a large number of people in Zimbabwe still love him.

In fair comparison between the two leaders, Tsvangarai deserved to win for the sake of also painting a convincing portrait to those from outside who has means to make Zimbabwe democracy bear sweet fruits for better life. They need to show that they serious about their improvement. Zanu PF failed to lead people's interests for their good. Then rationale to support MDC as a major opposition party to change that country’s situation makes sense. MDC is more appealing to the international community that wants to reach out and help supplement the democracy of Zimbabwe and to keep those who believe in good democracy not miserable as a result of bad choices made by others or the majority that needs education on making a choice for the better.

Zimbabwe needs the right economy that will swallow and improve people’s lives. The people needs help from it even Mugabe does admit it by blaming Tony Blair and the Western world. Large number of people is living their own country for countries like South Africa where there is great inequalities between the rich and the poor and between black and white people. In our countries they are willing to work for less pay.

Zimbabwe needs to become a free and open society allowing people determine their own will especially those who believe in free market and free enterprise, as their people do in foreign countries including here in South Africa.

Before sanctions Zanu PF had investment in other countries especially in Europe and others may still do in other continents. Mugabe still attends to international doctors for eyes check.

With direct investment Zimbabwe can go far in alleviating the poverty in that country. If Mugabe government free the people for free self will, wealthy nations can inject a lot for entrepreneurship projects to start their own businesses and be leaders of their economy. Politicians must not keep the people far from the direction the world is taking.

For investment to go through politicians in government positions in Africa that's when they start to think they can interfere in economic activities of individuals and do their corruption.

People of Zimbabwe need a free and open society for free will which that automatically creates a free market. People of Zimbabwe need economic empowerment projects like entrepreneurship, etc the world must work with people who are interested, and somehow all the little steps help. But
Mugabe has proven to not be helpful so far.
