President Jacob Zuma on the right track

14 June 2012, 08:10

Tuesday the 12 June 2012 will be a day which people of South Africa will remember in history, I’m sure children in some years to come will write exams about it. We know that it’s the same day in 1964 wherein Nelson Mandela and other leaders of the African National Congress were sentenced to life sentence , in what we call the Rivonia trial.

We also remember this day as second day to the start of the 2010 Fifa world cup.

What makes more interesting was the three press conference which made journalist move from area to the other covering was termed important announcement at that time.

The First press conference was the confirmation of the firing of Julius Malema, the second was the Numsa conference and the third was the announcement of the firing and reshuffling of Bheki Cele.

On the firing of Julius Malema One must comment the leadership of the ANC to have acted in that manner. The leadership demonstrated that ill discipline will not be tolerated in the ANC, was is interesting is that the man himself thought he was too powerful than the ANC itself , he used to intimidate many people hurl insults at many leaders of the ANC, one remembers cde Naledi Pandor , who was told to bring fake American accent to resolve the issues Tshwane University of Technology , the list will endless about those he made them feel not welcomed in the African National Congress, Julius Malema was a tree going with anarchy , the problem is that if don’t cut the tree of anarchy and arrogance , you have a possibility of the having fruits of anarchy , so one is happy that the leadership of the ANC saw it , and dealt with it.

The firing of Julius Malema and friends must make ANCYL and the youth of South Africa happy , because this is the time wherein we will concentrate on the real issues that affect young people, it is in this time we should say we know that there are problems of youth unemployment , challenges around teenage pregnancies , HIV and AIDS and many more.

Young people now have an opportunity to sit down and reflect on the best ways to resolve this issues, which include amongst moving towards industrialization to create more factories and processing plants that will employ many young people , it is important that young people must say to Government its high time that we need to move away from tenders and make sure communities are the primary suppliers of services.

On the reshuffling and firing on Bheki CeleThe firing of Bheki Cele, was long overdue , its high time President Zuma bring commissioners who will transform the police into a professional body , whiles many are crying foul that the newly appointed police commissioner does not have in experience in police background , the question is whether do police themselves understand management.

I find it odd that if u check illiteracy level in police you will be surprised , there has been a report about how police have bungled many cases by either not taking statements correctly or not following procedures , maybe the system which makes one police officer must be looked at , how many times the minister of police gets sued bases on wrongfully arrest and police brutality .as we approach the women’s month and the 16 days day of activism against women and children , one will sleep because he is sure that we have a commissioner who know the brutality and first hand info as women , about abuse.

A friend of mine once said ‘ You see the problems in the police needs a women , because they know how to build a community ‘. He was just saying women are the only ones organised in the society , you go to church and stokvel and many more.

Crime will be under siege with Women in charge I have heard many people saying why did the President reshuffle three times since he was appointed its a very narrow question ,on the basis that the current reshuffling and replacements was inevitable , because minister died in course of duty and therefore administration cannot stop ,what we need to applaud the president is the mixture of both young and old , one is very hopeful that the current reshuffle will go a long way in addressing critical challenges that our people are faced with.

We also wants to call on the president to look on provinces , because changes are needed in provinces like Limpopo wherein the administration collapsed because maladministration and rampant corruption the President should speed up the processes of firing Mathale and friends. It is in this context that this country is heading for a great future.
