Racism by any other name is racism

11 April 2014, 07:59

In a story I read when I was young. After the war was over and the remaining soldiers were picking up the pieces, some of those who were fighting were nowhere to be found. It was up until the families were told that they went missing in action. The families took up to themselves to look for their loved ones. It happened that two bodies which were the last ones missing were found in one secluded area after a long while. Unfortunately they were in a state of decomposition that it was only the bones left. Being in the early ages there was no DNA or forensic testing and other sophisticated methods of verification of identity. The two soldiers that were missing belonged to different race groups, one was white and the other was black. The families having no option, but relieved that at last they have discovered the remains of their loved ones, took the nearest body and left for burial. None of them knew if it was a black or white body that they took, no one ever knew because it was only bones left. So the question I have is that is there a different value in a certain race that causes so much discord amongst the society?

The high prices of fuel, food, interest rates, taxes, clothing, school fees etcetera, do not have mercy on the basis of race, colour or creed. If the bag of rice or sugar is a certain amount, all races have to fork out that equal amount to obtain such. Likewise there is nowhere that you can go and get cheaper petrol for a certain race group. The cost of living does not distinguish between races, it knows no colour.

When one goes to the dealer and wants to purchase a car, or to the bank to purchase a house, it depends on that individuals credit rating and vetting which qualifies him or her to be the owner of a new house or a new car, not the colour of the skin.

When going on holiday, the rates of accommodation never have any option which you press to get discount it you are of a certain race. The rates to be paid are the same they only depend on the days you are going to stay or the choice of your hotel. But black and white will pay equal amount of money.

Politics, crime, bullying of kids at school, newly found Satanism rituals affect us all as human race without first checking what is your colour. These are issues we might talk about from morning till dawn because they trouble us regardless of the colour.

Natural disasters such as flooding do not choose to happen in a certain area because a certain race group resides there, they happen randomly and all race groups are affected equally so. It means even the nature does not approve of this racial identification and thus divisions done by human kind.

Now why do we as human race always cling on the notion that a certain race group is better or privileged compared to another group, whereas when it comes to realities of life it affects us all equally so.

Racism by any other name is still racism and it should be put aside and be buried so that the human race can perform hand in hand in order to deal with real issues that are threats to its existence, instead of paying attention on what is your colour. No colour of any race shall be given discounts when they pay for their goods and services. Even the backdoor goods and services I do not believe they take into consideration of race colour. As long as you have their full amount of money the give you what you want, regardless of your colour.

So that this world could be a better place, I call upon the whole human kind to once and for all refrain from putting the race issue forward in dealing with issues pertaining everyday life. Instead all human kind should rise above and see each creation no matter what the colour is, as a resemblance of God. Thereafter work together and tackle the common ills of the society and the nation at large, without applying the stereotype of colour. If such stereotypes can be removed, there would be no more wars throughout the world caused by racial issues of disagreement.
