I am a white person in this country. Not of birth but of choice. I supported the new Rainbow Nation in every way. I actually believed that together we can all make a difference.
I however find myself in a constant mood of despair as it is more and more clear that the whites are not wanted. In particular I refer to the statements by SAA, Woolworths and Engen that no more whites will be employed. I believe McDonalds also falls into the category.
As a white male I am already faced with AA and BEE and white people make up less than 10% of the population. I doubt my children can go to university in SA as whites are not welcome so whilst my daughter truly wants to live in SA I am trying my best to get her to leave as she is not wanted.
If it were that the new regime was making such a huge success of things then one can agree that the whites are no longer needed but this is very far from the truth.
Many of you will read this article and say that I am just a pessimist and SA has no place for people like me. I used to be one of those but at some point I had to take my head out of the ground and see the truth around me.
I support the article in the Financial Mail in Europe last week "I becry this beloved country"
