Cyril Ramaphosa, business’ favorite ANC leader, called on big business to blow vast sums of money on funding "education." The ANC really like to put the "fun" into "funding!" He was speaking at a dinner event on Monday night and pledged a hundred million Rands to education projects. I guess, it is his money to waste, but if I were a shareholder...
Talk about putting your money where your mouth is – because Cyril’s mouth is firmly at the feeding trough! This guy has benefitted to the tune of hundreds of millions of Rands because of his political standing.
But big business is not going to buy into his program and start throwing even more money at the ANC’s bottomless latrine. Surely Cyril is aware of the vast chunk of government spending that goes towards education, and surely, he is aware that government money comes from taxes. Big business is a big contributor already!
The African Way of our great president is an almost foolproof recipe. When in trouble, put out your hand and ask for more money. Ramaphosa appears to have bought into this policy wholeheartedly since coming back into the warm glow of the pinnacle of the political executive.
Except here is the undeniable truth. Government has plenty of money and could be doing a perfectly decent job of service delivery, health, education, blah, blah, blah, if they would just stop stealing it all and get in a few competent people.
So Cyril, you abominable clown, stop asking for more money from everybody and ask your buddies in government to spend our billions more efficiently, to stop pinching all our tax money, to stop hiring all your aunties, cousins and the village idiot, and you’ll find that there is plenty of money.
