Imagine how life would be if we really took to heart what some of our peers, and, ummm shall I say “people of a certain age” *lifts both hands and curls fingers making quotation marks in the air* told us and really did not talk about politics, sex, race & religion? What would we have left then? Lots & lots of Quotes about green hills & daffodils, World Peace and some potheads’ ideal world. At least our struggles (whether real or imagined) keep us well occupied, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
The best thing that has happened politically is the ANC proving itself as having major weaknesses, if they were any better, we’d think that uncaring politicians were the sole reserve of certain racial groups. Certain aspects of women’s liberation have also been taken a step too far and many females have agreed with me on that, besides, there’s no woman’s’ liberation once the lifeboats get lowered. As for sex, does anyone really & truly Still fake orgasms? It takes two to tango, if the lazy, inexperienced sod you’ve hooked up with is not pleasing you in bed, guide him for heaven’s sake, teach him the ropes, all they ever taught us at school is how to put on a condom.
The “race” thing is here for good though, in my humble opinion, most people actually enjoy all the drama surrounding our race-related problems, we all have our minds set with regards to our beloved and firmly held opinions and we’re never letting go, never moving on, never fixing anything. No, I refuse to be tempted into joining the daily Zuma-bashing orgies but our leaders (Black, White, Indian & Coloured) are not really setting a good example for the rest of us to follow, excuse enough for us to behave like imbeciles? I think not….
