Hi my friends and fans at News24. It’s time for another much-anticipated instalment of Raymond Huxley’s Weekend Winners!
I’ve taken a good week or so to get a better feel for what’s been happening in this year’s Super15 rugby tournament.
No-one was surprised that the Super Kings won their first game; it certainly won’t be their last. I do think they might struggle a bit against the Sharks this weekend, but then again, as in poker, a Super King always beats a Choking Shark.
But onto some real rugby: I see the Crusaders bouncing back to beat the Hurricanes in Wellington. The Highlanders will wallop the Cheetahs and Chiefs will no doubt rout the hapless and clueless Stormers in Cape Town. I’ve put 2 grand on that game; Stormers are going to crash and burn – sorry boys...
Blues, looking on form and playing at home, will utterly destroy the Bulls who are even worse travellers than the Sharks. I’ve called Blues by 35 on SuperBru.
With those minnow games out of the way, we can focus on the greatest talent in the game with the biggest clashes of the weekend being: Rebels vs Reds and Brumbies vs Waratahs. I call both Reds and Brumbies to continue their winning ways.
Those are the intelligent picks for the weekend; ignore them at your peril.
On a side note, I’m in the final stages of my plans to launch my own YouTube channel on which I’ll broadcast my weekly sporting reviews and other gems of social wisdom, along with some new and creative comedic relief from yours truly. I know I can count on the devoted support from all the Saffas who look forward to my weekly reviews.
I’ll post my channel link soon and you all can come along to join. It will be a free channel of course, initially, but it’s only fair that I begin to charge at some point for my insights and entertaining content.
Until next time peeps!
