Friday 23 March 2011 saw Thorburn Security Solutions once again reaching out to the Lulekani Community near Palabora when they donated food supplies to the Lulekani Home Base Care Center. This food delivery is one of many donations from Thorburn to Lulekani since the commencement of the initiative in June 2011 that also included special donations on Madiba Day and Christmas 2011.
The children, classified as orphans and vulnerable children are supported by volunteers at the center. The center supports 160 children with meals and school homework support whilst more than 240 sick community members are visited and cared for at their homes with medical and clinic supplies from the Dept of Health Services. During the Thorburn visit on Friday, a director of the Board of Lulekani, Mr Ndlovu, was also present.
Not too long ago Thorburn Security also reached out to the Sekhukhune community when a sponsored golf day was hosted at Tubatse in honour of the community. On that day Thorburn reached out to the development of golf caddies at the Tubatse Club.
