Like any other or rather most organisations become victims of a conundrum , riddled with a confused constituency. Now the newly formed EFF is currently at the receiving end of all this confusion.
Thousands of "fighters" occupied the koppie in Marikana to launch the organisation which believes is to champion the interests of a black child and restore hope and dignity in black South Africans , however it was a shock to leaders of EFF to see certain "fighters" displaying banners with messages that reduced EFF to a racist organisation.
Some banners i saw had a message "To be a revolutionary you have to be inspired by hatred and bloodshed" then subsequently EFF released a statement that they distance themselves from such conduct , and that their (EFF) "struggle is not to kill whites but to ensure that we all equally benefit from the wealth of this country".
All this took me back to my SASCO days , most comrades never understood the "ideology" of the the gallant movement hence today mediocrity seems to be the order of the day in the ANC. It is regrettable that some people within EFF don't understand what it stands for, and they have mistaken Malema's radicalness for being a rebel.
Some "fighters" think EFF is in war with white South Africans or Zuma, but all that EFF seeks to achieve is to address the shortcomings of CODESA. Now it's time for EFF to protect it self from vultures who are within this new organisation, so that it will not be another another splinter party.
EFF has attracted strange types f apes and they (greater membership)have to protect this organisation from this gang. COPE had a dream but today, it's aspirations had been shuttered because if greed , democratic dictatorship and selfishness.
One mistake that political leaders do is giving room to anarchy or allow it when it suits them. Sadly when you breed a monster, the monster will inevitably attack it's master. ANC is a perfect case study.
I think EFF should educate South Africans and "fighters" what is EFF and what are the founding principles of this organisation.
EFF has five types of members, it has those who clearly don't understand it, we saw them during the launch in Marikana and we continue to see them defying this organisation when they had a poo protest at Sanlam offices in Cape Town. Some even think amongst other issues that EFF has no space for white South Africans.
EFF is also home to "fighters" who clearly understand this organisation , it's principles and ideology.
But then again you have those opportunist, this is group of career politicians. They see a new organisation , great future prospects and with their money and influence they are sure to get leadership roles or even deployment.
Rationality no longer trends in politics not even principles, Politics of today in South Africa are about personalities, even members of organisations are now followers of other members, so you have those in EFF who jumped ship not because Malema never received fair treatment in the ANC but because they are big supporters, this type they scare me, I at times wonder if they know that EFF is bigger than Julius.
Lastly you have those who are in the closet, they would do anything to wear that red beret and chant the famous "semaumau" slogan while doing the shower sign but all this is not possible because they understand where their bread is buttered and clearly you can't bite the hands that feeds you, these are your possible BEE benefactors, they will vote EFF while wearing their ANC regalia.
