The headline of my article is not an insult, but merely an observation. I'm talking to you. Christians and Muslims. You both go on your knees to worship the same God. The God that magically created everything in 7 days, made a woman from a rib and sent a great flood to kill everyone. The God of Abraham. The only difference is that you have different prophets.
For that insignificant difference you are willing to go to war. You are willing to strap bombs to yourself in order to eliminate the opposite camp. Every single day I read the news articles of Christians and Muslims trying exterminate one another. If not by sheer military force, then by sheer determination. And the rest of the world are caught in the crossfire of your difference of opinion.
From an outsiders perspective you behave like utter fools. Now before you jump on your keyboard to tell me you are innocent, and these acts are committed by extremists, don't even bother. You too are guilty. You are spreading your religion, to your friends, your kids and everyone around you. You support the industry that sends missionaries to remote locations where tomorrows extremists are created.
You promote the concept of religion that leads to division on this planet that I share with you. You fuel the engine of hatred (but you call it love) and you have no intention of stopping. Because you sincerely believe that your actions will magically give you immortality. Yes..immortality! You believe you will live forever In a cosy place. From an objective point you don't look very rational, and therefore the headline applies.
