Relocation

28 June 2014, 09:30
I am concerned about the current division that is caused by the living settlements in South Africa.

During Apartheid the Areas were divided to white and black areas and after 1994 nothing was done to correct this situation.

Is it not about time that relocation is considered. Next to town you have a sugar cane farm or something and 30 km away from town you have a black settlement. Is it not possible to relocate the people next to town and relocate the Farm 30 km away from the town.

The formula has been wrong for a long time now and it needs to be changed. Look at the Transport industry burning all that fuel just to transport employees everyday 30 - 60 km to town everyday.

Look at the shopping centers in town, the banks etc. people have to travel a long distance to get to them. Maybe the question should be, do we relocate the work or business to town or to black areas/

Just for a laugh...punctuality. Black people are not punctual i guess you hear that all the time....African time....but have you considered how much trouble that black employee has to go through to get to work everyday. An employee spends 2 to 3 hours to get to work everyday...Firstly the employee has to walk from his shack or home for 30 minutes to the Bus stop and then take a Bus to town and most probably take a taxi to work one the employee reaches town. All of this could be avoided if we relocate.

The fact that almost every successful black person moves to town must be an indicator that relocation is necessary. Except for his Excellency President Zuma. The municipalities in charge of this rural or townships are set for failure. There is absolutely no way they could succeed. There is absolutely no infrastructure, no funds, no prospect for anything.

To begin to build a truly united South Africa we must correct the settlements by relocating as necessary. Then we shall truly be the Rainbow Nation as depicted everywhere.

Women, prominent role players mod...

In the mid 1990s the people who approached me most often for advice, counsel and coaching were white males. Towards 2000 this changed and the majority were women, often black women, occupying mid to senior management positions.  Read more...

Dear Vanessa: who is African?

Sorry to rain on your parade. I won’t take much of your time. I’m sure you have more important things to muse over than some silly drivel from a black man. Now I’m going to ask a few questions that might just sound plain silly – or unwise. That shouldn’t surprise you, seeing that you think my type is reckless anyway. Read more...
