Daily, I have to drive on Malibongwe Drive (Lanseria side) and this road never ceases to amaze me...
Four lanes, two each way, busy with trucks, crazy with taxies and then you have the cars.
On top of this you have pot holes... and I mean dongers. I have driven on sand roads smoother and less ‘dongerfied’ than this section of Malibongwe.
When the Randburg municipality decide to fix these HOLES it’s a patch job but only until the third traffic light... by Weatherly’s... now that apparently falls under a different municipality (Krugersdorp) ... but this is still under debate between the two municipalities????
Also, this is a busy main road to a busy national airport that has no street lights?
I realize that this is only one example of the state of many roads in our country.
So we as drivers have the holes.
The biggest problem on the roads is when the rain comes!!!!! EISHHHHHH is the only word to describe this... yes met Eishhh!
A canoe is required. There is no drainage what so ever and where there is a drain it’s so full with litter its useless. Roads are flooded, causing traffic to come to a stand -still.
The ruling municipality needs to sort there areas fast.
Remember 94.7 cycle race is coming; those cyclist can’t be left to cycle on roads that makes sand roads look smooth!
Or why not make the whole 94.7 race through the Rhino Park? Smooth roads at least.
