TO THE POINT
Rugby world cup 2015 finals SA/N.Z????
18 September 2015 seems far away in actual fact it is 20 months away and many will feel it is beyond trying to predict games. Paying 716 Pounds or R12 000 to watch the final at Twickenham on 31 October surely entitles us to our opinion of who will be playing there.
You don’t need to be a brain surgeon to establish that New Zealand is the best side in the world. According to me South Africa streets ahead of the rest, despite England claiming to want to move to number 2 in the world. First time in my life I’ve heard a rugby nation wanting to go second and not top the world ranking.
New Zealand clean sweep says it all. A plucky Ireland side almost deprived them a clean slate but in the end class prevailed.
South Africa demolished every other side they played this season and even managed the unthinkable 4 tries against the world cup winners. The tri nations for me a much better barometer than the 6 nations and unless the other teams produce wonderkids in the next 20 months it should be New Zealand vs. South Africa at Twickenham on 31 October 2015.
Some may argue that their sides will still improve and yes they may but, so will the All Blacks and the Springboks. Scary but true.
After the end of the year tours both sides unbeaten and the so called main rivals England and Wales were brushed aside and France, I don’t know what to say. The top 14 looks like a foreign legion and only one party can benefit from it that’s the foreigners earning R800 000 per month.
So yes fingers crossed for the 2015 World Cup may the best side lift the coveted trophy.
