The thought just struck me that we spend a lot of time discussing whether we’re going to go the Zim route or not and yet if one actually analyses it we are already another Zimbabwe.
We have a president who “bent” the rules to obtain disposition - supported by others who have bent similar rules before and after –who is now filling key positions with similar backers and sympathisers, questioning openly whether he can climb into the constitution to make it more suitable for himself. Is he any different to Mugabe, except that Mugabe onlyhas 1 wife of course?
When one looks at the people holding the reins of power inSA today, in Zuma’s cabinet and in key positions, one sees a host of parasites, may already seemingly disqualified by previous doings and he is constantly trying to get more of them in.
National police commissioner(s), chief justices, Shaik – the list is endless and when ones sees his relatives also getting into the act via businesses, mining etc one has to wonder.
Then of course we also have most of the Zim population living here, no doubt many already SA citizens, we provide them with free electricity and we openly support their type of democracy, always managing to view their elections as free and fair, no matter who wins.
We have already become a province of Zimbabwe, no further need to worry about where we're going.
