It seems like there is an everlasting process in South Africa. I follow this process in the web papers. It is about violence, crime and contradictions in values etc. Every day there are a number of murders reported, sometimes among members in political parties but also within families as well as among people unknown from each other. Beside this there are disgusting rapes reported, robberies and other kinds of fights and trouble. Doesn´t this mean the time has come when something constructive has to be done to make a change. As it is now it seems to be worse than ever and totally go out of hands.
One can wonder how all this ever-present crimes influence the population in South Africa as a whole? When reading the comments in this paper it seems like the solution is to fight back and do it hard. Not much of analyses about how to make a change and prevent the violence.
Another reflection for me is that there seems to be a well-rooted attitude that the president is the one who must do it, whoever the name of the president. Anyway, I think there is a plight for the government to face the downward spiral in the South African society. The responsibilities are comprehensive and include all levels in the political establishment, which means the national parliament, all regional and local parliaments’ regardless political color.
This is however not enough; I also believe that the responsibilities include all citizens.
Everybody must start to question themselves “What can I do to make a change”. A society is a product of all the citizens there, so come on, let´s start a nationwide movement for a good Rainbow nation.
