SABS skills audit

19 February 2014, 13:03

First let me take few minute to reflect to the article by PricewaterhouseCooper.

Finding are shocking with 60% SABC executives and senior managers having no strategic thinking capacity, I can for one total agree with the findings/audit, this character is evident by the likes of SABC Radio Limpopo on friday Thobela FM it’s bradcasting "Ba baithobaletsego - Aka funeral service" reason i put this forward it shows that thinking ability is not there. We are leaving in a modern world where people have cellphone and all social media to communicate, why do they still believe that show can attract millions of people?

Management is still confined to old regime or maybe they still believe people don’t have cellphone ‘hello….TISA (This is South Africa)!!!!!

You look at the type of adverts on TV like “Boxer – add” you can tell that they missed quality class every Friday from whatever school they attended, Managers are not concern by quality but quantities.

SABC acting Chief Operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng dismissed suggestion that the SABC was in dire strait, citing a “successful broadcast of former Nelson Mandela’s funeral as an example. Mr Motsoeneng just his response really says a lot. No strategic thinking capacity how do you even get to that point of comparison? …  dude!!!

Moving on….

The audit also found out that 56% of such managers could not demonstrate adequate level of problem solving.

Yah…right…include Mr Haudi there…yeah…..How on earth do they demonstrate it  if they are ex-teachers and never enrolled for any strategic thinking course?  Which problem are they capable of solving?…. You look at the SABS TV and tell me is there any thinking capabilities there?

SABC 1 does all- in- one like Samsung from – Takalani to sports, how do you mix Movies and Sports? Music with News, the list is endless. Be focus on the service you want to deliver that’s all.

Moving on….

The report further revealed that 35% of senior managers showed disregard to financial information, And there was manipulative abuse of power.

I can't really know that until I get inside, but from distance you can tell by the type of shows- movies_ music the play…As they say you can tell the age by the type of music one play, Then that alone can tell which generation is still behind the scene...if

Moving on…. END
