Lord bless South Africa
Let South Africa's horn be raised
Listen also to our prayers
Lord bless us
We are the family of South Africa
Lord bless our nation
Stop wars and sufferings
Save South Africa, save it, our nation
The nation of South Africa
Ringing out from our blue heavens,
From our deep seas breaking round,
Over everlasting mountains,
Where the echoing crags resound,
Sounds the call to come together,
And united we shall stand,
Let us live and strive for freedom
In South Africa our land.
(English Translation of South Africa's National Anthem)
One of the most beautiful national anthems in the World.
The obligation to Freedom reverberates with every phrase, in five different languages, Pride, love and serenity harmonises as one prays to God to lead us in being one nation and one family of South Africa. The anthem sees no colour, no gender and no race difference…it only sees South Africans.
Ironic if you think that we sing a song that portrays a mere myth! Much like the yeti and the loch ness monster, South Africans too clutches hope of discovering true freedom and true unity.
The only difference is that as South Africans we can turn myth into reality and make our dreams come true, we can revive the slight pulse of freedom and harmony we came so close to have in 1994 to 1999. We just have to stand up, let our voices be heard stand together no matter our personal difference and fight for the one thing majority South Africans have in common, and that is the longing for real freedom.
We’ve been deceived and the world has been deceived by portraying the new South Africa as a free for all democracy. Apartheid has never been demolished; it was however weakened by the untainted love and forgiveness through Nelson Mandela, but his deceitful predecessors held a grudge that has now awakened the monster of Apartheid whose fierce powers are now being used by the very ones who suffered under its wrath.
STAND UP! I say, let us stand up set aside our petty differences and become one Nation regardless Colour, Race or Gender. Let us stand up for the one thing we all so desperately yearn for, True Freedom and True harmony. We will always be a diverse Nation, but let us act on the strengths of our diversity.
Each Culture, each race has their strengths and weaknesses, if we combine our strengths we become unstoppable. The time has come for South Africans to become un-stoppable.
