OK so we have R43-billion in 2012-13 fuel levy.
As of June 2010: 8.5 million according to one article, and 9.5 million according to another article. Let’s say licence renewal fees = R1000 a year (Is a lot more then that).
8.5 million * 1000 = R8.5 billion
Sanral income from “tollgate fees” R3.4bn in 2012/13
So now we are looking at R54.9 Billion a year revenue for the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral)
So the question is how many more roads did we build the last 10 years, seeing that this money cannot cover road infrastructure????
