See, if the ANC had just shut up

01 February 2013, 10:09

Almost two weeks ago I joined the queue of South Africans who were semi proud of FNB Bank for taking on the South African government with their ‘You Can Help’ campaign, but we were also suspicious that every single word the little kids said was scripted. Suspected…

The ANC of cause could not just go on with their business and ignore the add, they had to respond to it. As I seem to do these days all I could think when the ANC responded by calling the campaign an attack on the government was “ Oh would you shut the hell up already “ And maybe they should have connected to me by telepathy, heard what I was thinking and heeded my advise. Because since then, government is now facing all kind of questions that no one would have really cared to ask had they shut up.

FNB ‘cowardly’ apologized for something, I keep getting confused. And they also removed the videos online – no they didn’t, yes they did, no they kinda removed them, no they gone completely. Who the hell knows. Point is there was some buckling under the ANC mighty pressure.

The New Age then out of nowhere came to state something that everyone had already stated, discussed on twitter, made some bad jokes over it and then kinda put it behind them. TNA alleged FNB had scripted what the kids were saying. YAWN, first New Age you have to find better ways to even get me to look in your paper’s direction. Second, ANC this was a terrible attempt to sock it to FNB.

Now the Goliath or David of South Africa (depending on how you see her) Helen Zille has called for a commission of inquiry to probe funding to the TNA. I’m not sure why she is doing this either though, because I think even my six month old baby can tell you where the publication’s funding comes from. Just stirring shit Helen.

She as usual compares The New Age with the apartheid era scandal where state money was used to set up and fund the newspaper. I get why this is troublesome but is it not time to maybe stop requesting commissions of inquiries to subjects that are obvious to all South Africans, but maybe have a real action plan to prove and show why this is detrimental and get people to act?

Oh another thing, these days I swear one could bet white people where more disadvantaged then blacks during apartheid. This trend of drawing parallels etc, what exactly does this achieve? This just gives the ANC amo to keep going on about “oh we corrupt and don’t and can’t serve the people after almost 20 years of democracy because of apartheid” Someone be the bigger person (party) here please and we may follow.

Now ANC has mud on its face. We all want to know where does The New Age get its funding from? I also want to know how it affords these Business Breakfast’s that take place every week, and I don’t but that they charging some R250 000 to come per breakfast. Nonsense.  See, if the ANC had just shut up.
