“Law needed to protect the president’s dignity!” The SACP in KwaZulu-Natal has called for a law to protect the dignity of the office of the president, according to the City Press.
“This happens in many countries; once a person is appointed the president, some respect needs be given to that person,” provincial secretary Themba Mthembu said today in Durban.
The solution to this problem is rather simple and very obvious Mr Mthembu!
Select a man or woman with inborn dignity, that are worthy of the title “State President”!
Someone that doesn’t behave like an over randy tomcat with an array of wifes and concubines, and are still prowling for young female flesh.
Someone that doesn’t surround themselves with immoral, corrupt and thieving “advisors” and then hide behind the office, or his political history, when bad decisions are exposed and justice should be served.
Someone that sees the office of Sate President as a place to serve his or her people, and endeavour to uplift the lives of all who live in this country, and not a licence to print money for himself and his cronies, and a massive get rich quick scheme for the inner circle!
Someone that respects the rule of law, and when a court orders him or his cronies to do something, adhere to that order and not simply ignore it with an arrogance bordering on that of a dictatorship.
Select someone with at least a semblance humanity and an understanding of the daily struggles of ordinary South Africans to stay alive and provide for their families while gripped in the claws of abject poverty.
Select a person like that, and you don’t need laws to protect the dignity of the president, everyone will respect the president and not see him as a national joke and an insult to our democracy!
