Should SA Rugby be Banned?

03 April 2013, 09:00
I don't know about you, but all these rumblings of rugby supporter violence and bad behavior, send alarm bells ringing.

I've had the misfortune of attending several rugby matches and other sports events in South Africa in the past twelve years or so, and I can honestly say that it's an experience I would never want to relive.

And the latest world sports headlines confirm why.

International supporters who are being attacked by unruly Sharks' supporters, more victims coming forward now to confirm these brutish attacks but Sharks supporting thugs.

Unruly behaviour down in Cape Town with supporters showing their IQ level, booing visiting teams and basically acting like the intellectually-challenged Capetonians we all expect.

This has to stop!

It's time the IRB and other leading rugby bodies like SANZAR step in the save the game of ours before it's too late.
I put forward a motion to remove the disease from international rugby - take South African Rugby out of the global sport for good!

It's totally unfair to rugby lovers the world over to be subjected to such thuggery and hooliganism.

And after we've cleaned up rugby with South Africa's expulsion, then it's time to look at other sports where they are dragging the good name down.

We'll be cleaning up cricket and soccer as well!
