I went for a walk on the promenade in Sea Point last Sunday and again became aware that people do the things they want to do at the pace that is appropriate for them..
Some run, some walk fast, some walk slowly, some sit... How often don't we think that "faster is better" and rush through life, just to miss out on opportunities that we can only enjoy when we are going slowly, like smelling the proverbial roses.
Speed reading sounds like a good thing, as does speed typing. But speed yoga and speed meditation? Things need to be done at their appropriate pace. Kone Americas. a leader in the elevator and escalator industry knows this too... To quote: "Slowing down at key times to use dialogue for deep diagnosis has allowed the business as a whole to power up. Time lost at the front end has translated into clarity, speed and strength further along in the process. "
Let's not rush a meeting that needs more voices to be heard. Let's not rush bed-time stories with our children. Let's not rush life, but rather enjoy living the paradox of high performance: Slow down to speed up.. Productivity Perspective:
"Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.
