Some scary stats to freshen your weekend

02 March 2012, 21:32
According to the latest stats we have just over 20 million under the age of 19 of which the full total in any form of education comes to just over 14 million.

Drop outs at grade 10 average round 1000 000 per year and 40% of those who make it through to varsity will drop out at some point.

Do the math.

Outside of the normal unemployment statistics:
Right now we have about 5 million unemployable barely educated youth with a million or more swelling their ranks each year.

Alarmed yet?

I am.

Something drastic has to be done and it has to be done immediately!

Don't think you can just sit there and do nothing, this is a major catastrophe and it is creeping towards your palisaded, electrified fence right now. This is YOUR problem dear reader and I urge you to take it seriously!

Solutions exist, but it means taking on giants like Telkom and putting immense pressure our government to take bold steps forward in education and infrastructure roll out.

A bunch of us have committed our lives to doing this but we need your help!

The least we need is for you to 'like' our movement on Facebook and jump in with both feet if you are interested.

Please add creative thoughts in the comments section below on how you would solve this problem if you had the power.
