South African in one week

14 March 2013, 16:03

Just in one week we had been graced with what we call our normal feeds, our headlines are never “disappointing” and it is rare to find the unexpected. The anger around our country is very scary, I for one thought people who think of immigration are crazy to just pack up their lives and go to a strange country but it had crossed my mind since the beginning of this year. I love my country, we are still free of the worst natural disasters and we have amazing land, if you want to see the beauty of nature go anywhere in South Africa and you will not leave unsatisfied. We lose the sight of this beautiful country due to the cruelty of the people. I am in a position that if I get the opportunity to leave this country at this state it is in right now, I will gladly pack whatever little I have and leave.

The crime stats are horrendous and very shocking to think that people are just okay with hurting and destroying each other that simple. Kids are not safe at schools; the only place where parents believe their kids will find comfort, education and be safe, it has turned to a place where teachers take advantage of our young boys and girls. Sexual advances made to our innocent kids, the fact that old men make advances at them and they see nothing wrong with it disgust me to the core.

Our crime stats range from a young man of 17 years raping an old woman of 75 years to an old man of 50 years raping a 9 years old kid. From a 15 years old killing a whole family to a man with no hope in life hanging his kids and shooting himself (coward finds the easy way than hang himself like he did to the kids) , from a young woman with a bright future being used as a mole and thinking she will never get caught, the last one caught was just an idiot. From parents smoking in the cars with their kids in the car and naively thinking their kids are clever enough not to venture into drugs. From a drinking and driving idiot who will plead not guilty to a charge of murder because it was not intentional though they were drunk. From a power hungry idiotic man who is lazy to find a job and find solace in beating the stupid girlfriend who is still in the relationship because she believes “he loves her” and she just needs to be a better partner and giving him five kids to abuse as well , it is okay.

From a very possessive boyfriend who believes that he has a right over his girlfriend and can do whatever he wants with her, if she stand up for his, she is killed. From our government officials who are so corrupt that they honestly believe they have a right to our tax money because if found guilty you will be fired form the position if you are unlucky but get away with millions, no jail time for you. We live in a sick country. A country where an animal is more trustworthy than your own father, where an animal’s life is more valued than a human life. Where a foreign man’s life is more valued than the 5 kids he killed two days ago. #SMH

How sick can a country be, just in one week?
