Take Responsibility For Your Life

28 September 2012, 07:35

Whose shadow are you living under?

Many people have and still are experiencing failures, heartaches and disappointments without going through the actual experiences themselves. Their minds and hearts are conditioned to other people’s experiences, thus creating fear and doubts which then becomes a reality and influence their way of making decisions.

It is not wise to subject yourself under the condition of somebody else’s life, it doesn’t matter who they are, your father or mother, your uncle or aunt, brother or sister, friend or colleague or someone you looked up to. Be wise enough to know what to learn from their experiences and chose what to take and leave what needs to be left. Anybody’s true character is not determined by how many times they fall but by how many times they rise.

Just because someone superior, wiser, powerful or holier than you has failed or stumbled in some areas of life which also interests you does not mean that you will also fail or stumble as well. You may be of the same generation or blood-line with people who have fallen or failed in their lives but you are not subjected to them. They may have suffered from bondages, curses, weakness, sicknesses, poverty or lack, or maybe they failed in marriages, business or anything they wanted to do, but your life should not be limited to such.

You may have to deal with the effect of such but that is entirely dependant on your choices. You may be connected to those who are bonded to such curses, family or friends, but that has no power or control over your destiny. You need to take responsibility for your own life. Learn through those experiences but don’t let them cloud your judgment and influence your perception about life. After all, wisdom usually comes from a scar.

The effects of shadows are more psychological than anything else, because the fears, doubts, concerns and subjections are only created in your mind, although they are influenced by the evidence around you. It makes you to view life from a very blurry lens instead of your original vision. It may not pose as a huge threat but it carries the potential to destroy dreams and visions. Just remember that your life is not limited to anybody or any condition in this world, but to the choices you make.

Stop blaming anybody (governments or leaders) for the direction which your life is taking, you have the steering wheel in your hands.
