The 21 Century Slave

27 June 2014, 12:58

For centuries the few have tried to enslave the majority. They used force but in the end numbers won and the masses would not bend to the fist of the few. They tried weaponising God in the form of religion but that proved too unpredictable and with knowledge blind faith is questioned. Now it seems that they have finally found a way. We've all fallen victim to it, society placing a value on a person based on what and how much they have.

It's the person wearing designer labels, driving fancy cars and living in huge houses that is worshipped. Life partners are chosen solely on this value regardless of their character. We're all programmed to think we Need that new cellphone, car or house when most of it is just Want. Yet we go out and buy these Needs with borrowed money only to take out more loans to pay off the borrowed money, digging ourselves deeper and deeper. To find a way out we then work 14 hour days, weekend and holidays, selling our time only to see family at bedtime or friends on the occasional holiday.

The sad reality is while it's the few that may be selling the people want they think they Need the real problem is friends, family, colleagues and even strangers that enforce this system. The poor children are being groomed for this system from day one. They watch their parents work themselves into the grave so they can have some extra money in order to buy temporary happiness in the form of clothes and gadgets. All of which gets dumped at the back of the closet to collect dust and eventually thrown away with the garbage (which magically disappears).

I ask you to take out your payslip, every receipt for the month, invoices for home and car security, insurance premiums, toll bills, fuel slips, school fees etc. and add all the taxes together while thinking about corporates adding those taxes to your bills to cover their costs. And before you even started you've wasted almost 50% of your day working for government. Then look at all your contracts, leases and loans. For most even on pay-day the balance is negative because we spend more than we earn simply because we believe we have to 'answer' to society.

You're grinding away behind an office desk, afraid to loose your job because you scared you won't be able to buy things you can't afford so the bank can claim the only real precious resource you truly will ever have! Your limited time on this world! You Need to stop selling Your Life but start spending it on precious memories so that the previous generations that fought, blood, sweat and tears for Your Freedom is not sold off to the 21st century master... Live Life Unbound...
